SAP EWM migration tool

The SERKEM EWM migration tool is designed to migrate storage bins and stocks from your SAP WM system to SAP EWM. All possible types of warehouses can be migrated (bay warehouse, block storage, etc.). The storage types, which are created in customizing, are used as the basis for the migration. It is possible that only one handling unit is placed on one storage bin. The migration tool can be used to migrate all storage types at once or each storage type separately. During migration, you can also set the quantity of a material that has to be packed on a handling unit in EWM. This setting can be made at product level. Furthermore, automatic handling units can be created for remaining stocks.

A test run can be carried out for each migration run. The log of the test run shows where problems can arise during the migration. In addition, it is possible to print the appropriate labels automatically for the, in EWM created, handling units.

The stocks, which have to be migrated, are uploaded to the EWM migration tool via a file list. The tool determines the previously defined columns dynamically.

The migration in detail

When performing the migration, so-called “dummy HUs” are created in the background. The stocks from the SAP WM system are first migrated to these handling units. Then these stocks are migrated to the real HU’s.

Distinction of different storage conditions

The migration tool can differentiate between the migration of a bay warehouse and a block storage. In the case of a pallet warehouse, the inventory of each storage location is packed into a single handling unit.

In the case of block storage, the migration tool first checks which quantity has been maintained as a whole piece in the material master data. For example, if 1 TO = 1 TO has been maintained, a maximum of 1 TO of the material is packed in a handling unit.

Integrated background logging

After each execution of the migration tool (whether in test or productive mode), all steps are logged in the background (log). Every successful and unsuccessful action is documented and processed in a traceable manner.
