Optimized shipping process through including delivery company requirements, label printing and freight tracking in the SAP standard

The Details of the SERKEM Solution in SAP

Most of the companies work together with CEP and LSP service providers. It is precisely the varying charges and diversity of services, as well as the necessity of fast access to shipping, which make an electronic connection to the leading SAP system on the part of the service provider crucial.

SERKEM offers an efficient and continuously managed shipping process by using an intelligent way of connecting courier, express and parcel service providers (CEP) as well as logistics service providers (LSP) in SAP. The technical requirements of the service providers are fully integrated – the basis for a consistent shipping process in your SAP system.

The following CEP and LSP can be connected:

At a glance

Labels are printed accordingly the requirements of the service providers. The needed data is automatically provided by the SAP system itself, without the need of third-party systems.

The Data transfer will be directly in the correct format the supplier system can work with. In general, IDoc/EDI is used for the data transfer. Required information is generated by the system and transferred to the service provider. Data provided by the service provider is exchanged electronically and imported into SAP in real-time.

Next to the labels also the Manifests are developed considering the requirements of the CEP suppliers. The manifest includes the scope of delivery and the packages and is transferred electronically to the service provider.

While printing the label for a parcel the tracking number will be determined and saved in SAP. The Shipment Tracking as well as the status of the shipment is directly visible in SAP. In addition, Web-Tracking offers a direct link to the webpage of the supplier.
